West Village, New York

West Village

. November 07, 2016 .
The West Village had to be my favourite neighbourhood in Manhattan. We ended up spending two whole days wandering through the neighbourhood because we loved it so much. From brunch spots to bars and boutiques, there's something interesting on every corner and I literally felt like I was in a Friends or SATC set the whole time.

And that's what I fell in love with in these neighbourhoods of New York, feeling like a local and daydreaming about what it would be like to live in one of these gorgeous townhouses, or people watching with a cup of coffee from my fire escape. We got chatting to a waitress who lived in the village and as she was telling me about her small but beautiful over on the next street I couldn't help but feel a little envious. After this visit to NYC, I can definitely see myself living there – even for just a year or so.

We walked from our second hotel, Yotel (more on that in my next post!) to the Highline and walked it all the way down into West Village on the hottest day of the week. A steaming 29 degrees, it was perhaps not our best move – but the views over Chelsea, the village and the cityscape in general, made it well worth it, though I did feel sorry for Liz in her leather trousers!

Wearing a couple of the few cooler items of clothing I brought with me, I slipped on this season's biggest trend, the metallic pleated skirt, and a silky cami. I'd originally planned to layer a chunky knit over this look, but you'll find no complaints from me about the weather we were blessed with! And it's now cold enough here in the UK for me to bundle up to my heart's content.

As always, thanks so much for reading and be sure to stay tuned for my full city guide coming later this week! Have you ever been to New York? I'd love to hear which neighbourhood was your favourite.
