Party Style with Wallis

. November 17, 2015 .

Whilst I love getting ready for a festive shin-dig, party-dressing in the frosty season can often have it's challenges. It's all about finding the right balance between freezing in your sequin mini skirt whilst waiting for your Uber and over heating in a sparkly knitted turtle neck in that clammy over headed bar. I've teamed up with Wallis to give you some party-perfect outfit inspiration...

When the weather turns, I'm all about a longer sleeve when it comes to party dresses. But, that's not to say you can't create a show-stopping look. These sheer blouson sleeves add a perfect touch of elegance to an otherwise simple dress, bonus fashion points for the velvet chevron details too. Team that with the roll-neck, cut out neckline and you have quite the chic, party-perfect LBD

I'm sure we were all guilty of it in one teenage year or another, shivering in the queue to the club sans jacket. I seriously don't know how I managed those Saturday nights out on the town without a coat, now it's one of the key components to my party look. I love the classic vibe of this dress so teamed it with this and sophisticated camel coat. It's high collar and gold hard wear details make this a perfect smart piece to throw over your party dress. Plus find me a chic-er colour combo than an all black an camel palette.

One rule I always stick to when pairing a coat with a party look is that the hemline must be longer than your dress or skirt. There's nothing worse than something simple like odd lengths poking out underneath putting your look off balance. The just-above-the-knee length of this camel coat is perfect for most party-dress lengths yet not so long that it swamps you.

Accessories wise, I picked this elegant, fine-chain pyramid drop pendant to pick up the gold accents of the coat. And of course, I'll rely on the deep pockets of this coat to keep my phone, cards and lipstick, keeping all hands free to throw some serious moves on the dance floor. See more from Wallis' party dresses here, and be sure to check out their occasion wear too.
