HAIR RE-STYLE WITH JO HANSFORD

. October 03, 2015 .

You know you've gone to long sans haircut when you start looking like a dishevelled hippy, exactly how me and my hundreds of split ends were looking before the awesome team at Jo Hansford squeezed me in for a more than necessary hair sort out just in time for London Fashion week...

There's nothing like a freshly preened head of hair to put a spring in your step. Feeling fresh, my new mane gave me that little bit more confidence during London Fashion Week, running from show to show with a bit more sass knowing my hair no longer looked so drab.

Two days before the London shows kicked off, I jumped in an Uber and headed down to the Jo Hansford Salon in Mayfair. I first discovered the salon at Look Fantastic's birthday party a few weeks back and loved the hair styling then so I knew it wouldn't be long before I was back in one of their chairs.

I was introduced to colour expert Dominique, who was so lovely and friendly, spending time talking at length about what exactly I was looking for, advising me on what would be best to keep my hair healthy and what to avoid. She did a few test foils to see how the colours took to the natural warmth of my hair. It's great that they do this because you're able to say things like a little lighter on that shade, a bit ashier here, ensuring you have the perfect colours and tones before it's applied all over your hair. We settled on a balayage effect with more pieces of ashy blondes towards the end, and warmer tones towards the roots to lighten up my whole mane.

I'm so happy with how the colour turned out and so impressed with how spot on Dominique was at creating exactly what I wanted. She also sent me away with the Jo Hansford silver shampoo and conditioner pictured above so my hair stays the ashy tone that I love. After washing out the colour (and the most heavenly head massage) it was time for my cut and styling by stylist Frankie.

We'd met when she styled my hair at the Look Fantastic event so I was really happy to be in her skilled hands again. Whilst catching up on her recent trip to vegas and what show's she'd eb doing the hair for at LFW, we decided on a couple of inches off and good blunt cut to see the back of my split ends. Then, finished with a beautiful bouncy blow dry, showing off my beautiful new colour and wonderful style for following events that evening. I'm in love with the blunt finish and how much more healthy my hair looks with the new cut.

Endless thank-you's to Jo Hansford salon, Dominique and Frankie for this wonderful re-style ahead of the new season. My hair feels so healthy, the cut and colour is amazing and I couldn't be happier! Would love to hear your thoughts below - don't forget to visit their website here.
