Autumn Neutrals

. October 19, 2015 .

Back in February, Pantone announced their annual Fall 2015 colour report and for the most part it was centred around earthy hues and all things natural. So, instead of shying into my usual winter uniform of black and navy, I'm experimenting with some softer neutrals this autumn...

The shades are delightfully named; from Dried Herb and Desert Sage to my favourite, Oak Buff. If those wonderful-sounding words aren't enough to make you shed the black, perhaps seeing how easy they are to wear in this look will. Earthy neutrals are all about greenish grey's, olives, taupes and deep, golden yellows - I know this sounds like turning into a fallen autumn leaf itself, these hues actually do a great job at bringing out the warmth in your skin. And if that fails - stand next to a redbrick wall like me and let the reflected rich tones bounce off you.

Another thing - you can literally throw on a load of different earthy shade's and it'll all still look cohesive. In this look I'm wearing greys, tans, beiges and taupes but it all sits fairly well together, making getting dressed in the morning that little bit less painful.

Talking of beiges (or any other excuse to mention my new boots), can we take a moment to appreciate these new almond, soft-as-silk over-the-knee beauties? I almost danced with glee out of my ASOS shoot last week after their lovely stylists said I could keep them after we'd finished. Since picking up these black ones a few posts back I've been totally obsessed with OTK boots. They suit my shape so well and elevate any AW look. Hope you enjoyed this take on AW neutrals - until next time!
