Lola & Grace

Thursday I had the pleasure of attending Lola & Grace #makethemoment event. Beautifully set in McQueens florist in Shorditch, I was there for a style work shop with In Style's shopping editor, Robyn Kotze and then a street style shoot. Lizzy came with me so I was able to get these great behind the scenes shots from the day to give you guys a little preview of some exciting contents that's coming next week!
We were greeted with prosseco - complete with hibiscus flower, which frankly is the most wonderful thing I've ever tasted - and an array of gorgeous nibbles garnished with edible flowers, butternut squash tart, scotch quails egg and red velvet cupcakes to name a few.
McQueens florist was simply stunning, it's actually owned by Alexander McQueens aunt too! Lola & Grace jewellery was gorgeously laid out amongst flower displays and moss around the shop.
I was then taken to a table full of jewels, designer bags, sunglasses and an almighty rack of insane clothes. I'll go into what Robyn styled me in more in the next post, but let's just take a minute to appreciate that beyond beautiful new season Marigela oxblood clutch. They practically had to prize it away from me at the end of the shoot!
We were sent away with the most beautiful bouquet of flowers and I got to keep my two favourite pieces of jewellery, spoilt rotten. Lizzy and I finished off the lovely session with a glass of pino in the local pub and sat in that lovely bit of February sunshine we had yesterday before heading home and packing.
I'm writing this from my hotel room and can't wait for a day full of Paris and fashion week tomorrow!

Lola & Grace #makethemoment Behind The Scenes

. February 26, 2014 .

A slightly more dressed down look after the madness of LFW. It's hand-in week this week so I'm busy finishing off lots of coursework, hoping I get it all done tonight so I can relax tomorrow and pack for Paris! Although I'm becoming far too excited to do anything productive.
I had a lot of walking around to do today so wanted to be comfortable, I got these jeans as a lovely christmas present from Bank in December and they're just the softest stretchiest pair of trousers, fit like a glove. Keeping the blue theme I wore my (overworn) Reiss knit and chucked my camel coat on top. Theres something about a camel and pastel combination I find irresistible, totally fell for the outfit Daniela from We Wore What wore when I spied her at the Topshop Unique show.
Just a short one for today, lots to do! Next update may be from Paris, stay tuned! x

Dressed Down

. February 23, 2014 .
Out of all the invites I got this season I actually had none for Tuesday. I planned to just chill at Somerset House and get some street style photos, the weather however had other plans. My friend Lizzy (who is an awesome photographer, checkout her website here!) and I headed down and got caught in the worst rain, big thank-you’s to her for taking these outfit photos for me whilst it was pissing it down! Some exciting news also if you haven’t already seen my excitable twitter/instagram posts… Lizzy and I are going to Paris for fashion week! We leave on Friday and I can’t wait! It’s so last minute I’m not really organized with shows but I have a few showrooms to go to and just being there to soak up the atmosphere should be amazing.
Back to LFW, this gorgeous twinset is by Pink Soda at Bank, if only the weather was as bright! I have a pink overload thing going on, I couldn’t resist teaming these two together, a match made in pink heaven. I wore my Roshe’s for the final day, not just because they have pink accents but because I seriously needed to! Fashion week feet are the worst.
After getting stuck in the torrential down poor we headed to the Me Hotel and warmed up with some refreshments. As I didn’t have any shows I actually had a chance to talk to a few of the brands that were there, first being Lion Studio jewellery. There were some really stunning pieces featuring eyes set in cuffs and necklaces, my favourite were the icing-style sweet shaped rings and ear cuffs that you can see on the top plate. Made from silver these pieces are so unique and timeless I fell completely in love with them, make sure you check out the website here.
In the foyer downstairs I noticed some designs by Ada Zandition. Now I’ve admired her eco-friendly pieces since winning a compettion she held with EasyJet. I think it was four or five seasons ago and the competition won me my first time at fashion week, so I’ll never forget this designer. These monochrome looks featured a wonderful combination of textures and fabrics, and those head pieces- oh my!
Last stop of the day was the International Fashion Showcase, conveniently just down the road from the Me and Somerset House. There were so many inspiring designers I couldn’t upload photos/ talk about them all but below are some of my favourite from the exhibition.
Phew. What a season. LFW is getting busier but better for me each time I go and I’ve had the best time these past few days. It’s now hand-in time for me at Uni so I’ve got lots of work to finish off this week, hand in on Friday then I’m straight off to Paris, Au Revoir!
