Vamp

. November 09, 2013 .

Yes I know it's November and I promise I was wearing a coat with this outfit, I just
took it off for the photo's to do the dress justice. Which may be why I'm looking startlingly pale in these photos, with that lipstick I look like some sort of Vampire that's too late for Halloween. At least I like my outfit.
The dress is by an independent designer Laura Smith, who very kindly loaned me their X Dress to shoot in an outfit post. I absolutely adore the shape if this dress, the 'X' structure makes it hang in a really flattering way, it's often hard to find a loose-fitting dress that doesn't make you look like your wearing a sack.  That combined with the printed silk paneling takes it from your standard LBD to something quite special. What I also thought was really pretty was the touch of lace detail along the hem, it's actually Nottingham lace from the designer's hometown. I paired it with some 15 deniers and ankle for a daytime look, but could easily swap for bare legs and a pair of barley-there strappy heels for something to wear in the evening.
I'm so rushed off my feet at the moment with Uni, press days, events and travelling back home now and then it's nice to sit down and actually do a blog post properly. I have a lot more coming so I'll try to be more on the ball next week. I'm dedicating the rest of the weekend to getting on with some Uni work.. hope yours is more fun than mine!

  6. This lipstick looks lovely on you....really nice to see a vampy lip that leans more on the brick-side. Makes a nice change from the usual berry and wine shades!
